As tensions remain high in the Middle East amid the Israel-Hamas war, officials say several U.S. personnel were injured in a suspected rocket attack at the Ain-al-Asad air military base in western Iraq. According to Reuters, at least two Katyusha rockets were fired towards the base. A statement to FOX says “base personnel are conducting a post-attack damage assessment.” This comes after Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated last week in Tehran, causing the Iranian government to vow retribution against Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not claimed responsibility for the death of Haniyeh, but Iran reported plans to launch attacks against Israel soon.
