Iran’s Underground Church: Pro-Israel & Growing Despite Persecution

Video Summary

In this episode of Watchman Newscast, host Erick Stakelbeck explores the complex religious landscape within Iran. The segment highlights a narrative where Iran, often characterized as a major state sponsor of terrorism, is also described as potentially hosting one of the world's fastest-growing Christian communities. Despite facing severe persecution, reports indicate that many Iranians are increasingly turning to Christ. A notable aspect discussed is the reportedly pro-Israel stance of this underground church movement, which contrasts sharply with the nation's geopolitical relations with Israel.

Stakelbeck interviews two pastors who maintain deep connections to the Iranian church to provide insight into these developments. The conversation delves into the broader context of rising global Christian persecution while specifically examining how faith persists in such an environment. The program also includes a promotional segment for a book titled Imprisoned with ISIS, which addresses faith in the face of evil. Viewers are directed to various online platforms to access full episodes and follow the host's social media channels. The broadcast aims to present these untold stories regarding religious freedom and community growth under difficult circumstances.
